Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh Poké Balls take your collection beyond the original Kanto Pokémon into the second, third and fourth generations. We print 37 N3D Poké Balls from these three regions: 16 from Johto, 11 from Hoenn and 10 from Sinnoh. This guide walks through each region's lineup and the sets that group their legendaries.
The three regions at a glance
| Region | Generation | First games (North American release) | Balls we print |
|---|---|---|---|
| Johto | Gen 2 | Pokémon Gold and Silver (2000) | 16 |
| Hoenn | Gen 3 | Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire (2003) | 11 |
| Sinnoh | Gen 4 | Pokémon Diamond and Pearl (2007) | 10 |
Every ball is an N3D design that we 3D print in multicolor PLA, with a working push-button click. The ball is about 2.75 in (70 mm) across, and most stand 3–4 in tall with the character details. Standard balls are $17.99, and legendary and mythical balls are $23.99. US shipping is $5.99, free on orders of $35 or more.
If you started with Kanto, these regions are a natural next step. In Gold and Silver you can travel back to Kanto after the main story, so Johto and Kanto balls pair especially well on one shelf.
Johto (Gen 2): babies, beasts and the tower duo
Johto added two new types, Dark and Steel, and introduced baby Pokémon. Our 16 Johto balls begin with the region's starters, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, which our starter Pokémon Poké Ball guide covers alongside the starters from other regions.
The babies are Pichu and Togepi, both introduced in Gen 2; Togepi became a Fairy type in Generation 6. Furret (Normal) and Wooper (Water/Ground) are the everyday favorites. Johto also brought two new Eeveelutions, Espeon (Psychic) and Umbreon (Dark), which evolve from Eevee through friendship by day or by night. Tyranitar (Rock/Dark), the final form of Larvitar, is the region's pseudo-legendary.
Then come the legendaries and a mythical:
- Legendary beasts: Raikou (Electric), Entei (Fire) and Suicune (Water).
- Tower duo: Lugia (Psychic/Flying) and Ho-Oh (Fire/Flying), the cover legendaries of Silver and Gold.
- Mythical: Celebi (Psychic/Grass).
See the whole region in our Johto Poké Ball collection.
Hoenn (Gen 3): the weather trio and two pseudo-legendaries
Hoenn is a small lineup with a lot of power in it. Blaziken (Fire/Fighting) is the final form of the Fire starter Torchic. Gardevoir (Psychic/Fairy) gained its Fairy type in Generation 6, and Absol (Dark) is known as the Disaster Pokémon. Hoenn also has two pseudo-legendaries, Salamence (Dragon/Flying) and Metagross (Steel/Psychic).
The other six are legendary or mythical:
- The Eon duo: Latias and Latios (Dragon/Psychic).
- The weather trio: Kyogre (Water), Groudon (Ground) and Rayquaza (Dragon/Flying).
- Mythical: Jirachi (Steel/Psychic), said to wake for just seven days every thousand years.
Browse them all in our Hoenn Poké Ball collection.
Sinnoh (Gen 4): the creation trio and new evolutions
Sinnoh brought new evolutions for older Pokémon and a trio of legendaries tied to the creation of its world. Piplup is the region's Water-type starter, and Garchomp (Dragon/Ground) is the pseudo-legendary final form of Gible. Lucario (Fighting/Steel) evolves from Riolu, while Leafeon (Grass) and Glaceon (Ice) are the two Eeveelutions added in Gen 4.
The creation trio is Dialga (Steel/Dragon), Palkia (Water/Dragon) and Giratina (Ghost/Dragon), linked to time, space and the Distortion World. Darkrai (Dark) and Arceus (Normal) round out the region, and both are mythical.
With ten balls, Sinnoh is the quickest of the three regions to complete.
Legendary sets for each region
Each region's legendaries and mythicals come together in our legendary sets by generation:
- Gen 2: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh and Celebi, $132.99
- Gen 3: Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza and Jirachi, $132.99
- Gen 4: Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Darkrai and Arceus, $110.99
Bought singly, six legendary balls come to $143.94 and five come to $119.95, so each set costs less than its balls bought one by one. Celebi, Jirachi, Darkrai and Arceus are mythical rather than legendary; our legendary and mythical Poké Ball guide explains the difference.
Ways to collect across three regions
- One region at a time: finish Sinnoh first, then move on to Hoenn and Johto.
- Eeveelution row: Espeon and Umbreon from Johto with Leafeon and Glaceon from Sinnoh.
- Pseudo-legendary row: Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross and Garchomp.
- Starter row: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Blaziken and Piplup, a line of partners across three generations.
- Cover legendaries: Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Dialga and Palkia, the mascots of the original paired games.
Because every character sits on the same 2.75 in ball, Pokémon from different regions sit together neatly on one shelf.
Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh FAQ
Which of these balls are mythical?
Celebi (Johto), Jirachi (Hoenn), and Darkrai and Arceus (Sinnoh) are mythical. They're priced with the legendaries at $23.99 and are included in the matching legendary sets.
Do you print every Pokémon from these regions?
No. We print a selection: 16 from Johto, 11 from Hoenn and 10 from Sinnoh. If a Pokémon isn't in our collections, we don't currently offer it.
Are these the same size as the Kanto balls?
Yes. Every N3D Poké Ball is about 2.75 in (70 mm) across, and most stand 3–4 in tall with the character details, so every region matches on the shelf.
Whichever region you grew up with, there's a lineup here to build on. If you want a region you can finish quickly, start with Sinnoh's ten.
