When it comes to 3D printed collectibles, material choice makes all the difference. At One More Layer Prints, we use premium PLA+ filament for every N3D Pokéball — and here's exactly why that's the right choice for collectors.
PLA+: The Premium Standard
PLA+ (enhanced Polylactic Acid) is our material of choice. It's derived from renewable resources like corn starch, making it more eco-friendly than petroleum-based plastics. PLA+ prints with sharp detail and vibrant color fidelity — crucial for capturing the precise look of each Pokémon character.
Why Not ABS?
ABS is tougher but emits fumes during printing that require ventilation. It's also more prone to warping, which can compromise the precise dimensions needed for our click mechanism.
Why Not Resin?
Resin prints with extraordinary detail, but the material is brittle and involves hazardous chemicals. For a collectible meant to be handled and clicked regularly, resin would crack over time. PLA+ provides the right balance of detail and durability.
Every material choice at One More Layer Prints is made with collectors in mind. Shop our collection and experience the difference.
